News: Midtown Park Breaks Ground in Wilmington / by L2Partridge Company News

This past Monday marked the critical point for the Buccini Pollin owned Midtown Park, a complex of two apartment buildings connected by a pedestrian bridge designed by L2Partridge, as the groundbreaking ceremony kicked off at 9am. The project, which has been in development for a number of years is moving forward, off the drawing boards and into construction. The groundbreaking ceremony was held at the project’s site under the 90+ degree sun. There was a great turnout and a few key personnel spoke about the large political and financial efforts that made the project possible. Governor Jack Markell of Delaware, Mayor Dennis P. Williams of Wilmington, and Council Member Dr. Hanifa Shabazz were recognized and shared a few words. The Department of Public Works, Office of Economic Development, and the Office of Real Estate and Housing, were also key to the kick-off of Midtown Park.  Governor Markell noted that this project will be “transformational” for the City of Wilmington. Mayor Williams remarked on the increased economic development the project will bring to the city: “When you see cities building, its means the city is alive… Wilmington is alive and well, ladies and gentlemen.”
